Division Responsibilities
The Water Quality Control Facility Division is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the city's Water Quality Control Facility (WQCF).
The treatment plant covers approximately 240 acres and has a design capacity of 2.25 million gallons per day. Daily operation of the facility is handled by Chief Plant Operator(CPO) Nathan Gardner.
Approximately 1.8 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater are treated daily.
North Oxidation Ditch
This 0.8 MGD Lakeside Oxidation Ditch was built in 1980 and upgraded in 2009. It typically achieves 99% or reduction in biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids.
