What is a Parks and Recreation Master Plan?
A Recreation and Parks Master Plan Update is a strategic document that serves as a guide for policy decisions: prioritizing and balancing demands and opportunities and providing a framework for park and facility improvements and other expenditures, as well as park and recreational activities.
This update will collect and analyze data regarding current conditions, evolving demographics, and emerging needs to develop recommendations to improve, protect, and expand the City’s network of parks and recreational services for the future.
The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will provide a long-term vision for the City's park system that will enable multi-year planning for capital investments as well as specific policies and standards to direct day-to-day decisions. It will set forth a framework that will allow the City to respond to new opportunities as they arise and ensure that adequate parks, facilities, and recreation programs meet the needs of the City's future residents, employees, and visitors.
