City Government: How It Works
The City of Patterson operates under the Council/Manager form of government, a system that combines the policy leadership of elected officials in the form of a City Council, with the professional, managerial, and leadership expertise of an appointed City Manager.
The City Council is the legislative body for the City of Patterson. Five (5) members are elected by members of the public. Each Councilmember serves a four (4) year terms and the Mayor serves a two (2) year term. The City is a General Law City and operating under the provisions of the State Government Code.
The City Council meets regularly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, located at 1 Plaza, Patterson.
