The City's Building Division is responsible for the enforcement of codes, laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to commercial and residential building construction and remodeling within the city.

What You Should Know Before You Hire a Contractor!

  1. Make sure they are licensed by the Contractor's State License BoardLaw states that work performed in California that is valued at $500 or more must be completed by a State Licensed Contractor.  Report unlicensed activity
  2. Verify their State Contractor's License Number and current status on-line or by calling 1-800-321-CSLB (2752).
  3. Get at least 3 bids and check their referencesHow to find the right contractor.
  4.
